Quilly Three Word Challenge

Quilly

Gaden
looked at the assembled Paladin, a proud small group which swore allegiance to him. It did seem that their beards and hair had a gray tone now. Worry and wrangling had done that. Could he bring them back to a dynamic force in the Providence? The invidious Volten had broken their unity weakening the Paladin almost to ineffective. Intransigent Gaden stood against the allies of Volten.

Young Volten was sure he had nearly won over the entire Paladin with his one to one engagements. He was persuading them to change the structure of the Paladin to include those without the power to heal. Warriors is what they needed not healers. Volten turned to look at the powerful Gaden in his golden robes.

" For years we have been the instruments in keeping peace in the Providence using are caring abilities. Fear leads to hate and hate to war. Our abilities to heal the injuries to body and soul has kept us peaceful. Please join me in treating those who have begun to fear." Gaden ended his speech and those who were with him joined him in kneeling. One by one others joined those kneeling.

Volten felt the power in the room, and he found himself falling to his knees. The Paladin had become one again.

Raven challenge 60

Today I face another Raven's Challenge.

This Week's Ten Word Challenge will be: preparation, tic-tac-toe, splurge, auction block, the bitter end, milk, papyrus, when the parade passes by, bill of lading, stone wall

Mini Challenge: polar bear, 20 seconds, get it together, spasmodic, antiquity

It took some preparation for Jennifer to go back home. She had to learn how to use a crutch, but she would not give up on her investigation into the double murders, besides the fact the man was after her. She would splurge on getting help. She was in this to the bitter end, no sitting back and playing tic-tac-toe.
Martin Flask related to her what had happened after her car went off the road. The man in the tan overcoat was on the passenger side of the car when Mr Lemer pulled up behind to aid after seeing the accident. He called for help and his cousin who was in the car with him at the time ran to Jennifer's car. The man in the tan overcoat ran back to his car and drove off. The cousin Sarah Jones thought that was odd, because his silver van, a 2006 Chev showed damage. He was leaving the scene of a accident so she got a license number. Sarah was the person with the diamond earrings in the shape of tigers.
The police now had a description from Jennifer and Sarah, and a license plate number. There was at this time no way to connect him with the murders, but this should enable them to move beyond the stone wall they had run into. A search of his residence, would be done.
Martin was waiting on Jennifer, trying to keep her off her injured foot. He brought her some milk and some cookies he found in her cupboard. He helped her open a package that arrived containing papyrus she wanted to use for a special project, in it was also the bill of lading. She was reminded of the expense, she would like to forget. Jennifer explained to Martin the writing on the papyrus would be a work of art that might by going on the auction block bring in enough to cover the expenses or more. She reminded him she did need to get that new printing press.
The doorbell rang, Martin leaped up quickly moving to the door. He check and found it was Mr. Lemer, so he let him enter.
"I have some facts on tan overcoat man, and some more on the murders. I put what I have on index cards." He lined up the cards he had in a row on the couch, feeling like a detective. Martin, Jennifer and Mr Lemer studied carefully when the parade past by of facts.

Since seeing animals that were not visible, and them having special gifts was a curse that was not revocable and was a curse from antiquity Sandy Shore was determined to live a life that was normal as could be.
She left the restaurant and drove past the Poets Corner, where fireman and investigators were going over the blacken remains. She could not get close with her car so she parked a few blocks away and walked over. Police prevented her from getting up to the building and she was forced to stand where the reporters and gawkers stood.
When Sandy Shore saw her penguin was spasmodic in the past, so she did not need to take more than 20 seconds to get it together when she saw the penguin placing himself between her and a polar bear.
The polar bear and a policeman were on the other side of the yellow crime scene tape. The polar bear was not a gentle appearing animal like the others she had seen. The polar bear was up on two back legs moving toward the small penguin. The bear did not pass the yellow tape, but it was not the tape that held him back ,but some unseen power of the penguin. The scene before her changed the peaceful conclusion she had come to about the curse. There were enemy invisible animals. Were there enemy people with the curse and were they responsible for the explosion? Why was she a target? She retreated making sure the penguin was between her and the bear who as she moved went through the tape confusing the policeman not able to see the action of the bear and penguin. Reaching the car she quickly entered and fastened the seat belt. She was glad for the protection of the steel. Not looking back she sped toward her home.

Quilly Three Word Challenge

Quilly

Quilly's words:antediluvian-years between creation and the flood
prolix-wordy
ineluctable-could not avoid

Sandy Shore wondered how old was her penguin that others could not see. Was it there in the antediluvian? The young men were not prolix, but they seemed to believe it was ineluctable that she become a companion to the penguin.
The tryouts for parts in upcoming movies would be an adventure for she would have that penguin with her, but if it was for her good the parts she did not get would be ones she would be better off without. That feeling would make for peace of mind.
Disrupting her peace of mind was the explosion at the Poets Corner.

Raven's Challenge 58 & 59

I was not able to post last week and because it is a continuing story I have both weeks.

Today I face another Raven's Challenge.
Last weeks Ten Word Challenge will be: acrobat; grocery store; ceiling fan; dandelion; bumble bee; alabaster; scissors; chartreuse; strenuously; cube

Mini Challenge: iPod; poison ivy; computer; interpreter; optometrist

words for this week's ten word challenge were: prefix, art festival, income tax, chicken noodle soup, jump rope, Dutch Treat, flowering plum tree, bats in the belfry, diamond earrings, tigers Mini Challenge: book club, organic tea, the cow jumped over the moon, paragon of virtue, wench

Jennifer left the hospital quickly and looking around for the man in the tan over coat as she got into her car. She did not see him, but she continued to be observant. She had been wrong in Professor Flasks case but that trying to get her to eat the soup he brought that was just odd. She took the bowl into the police station and explained what had happened and the fact that Mr Lemer had suggested she bring it in. The officer at the desk agreed to test it.
The grocery store was her next stop. The store had chartreuse cubes hanging from the ceiling and a ceiling fan that was causing the cubes to bounce strenuously on their strings. Jennifer wished she was an acrobat and with scissors in hand she could do a flying leap and a somersault and cut the strings. That was not why she came in here, forget the day dreaming .
She walked down the aisles past the dandelion wine and the bumble bee nector . She was looking for an alabaster towel holder, which she did not find. It must be the wrong store.
As she left the grocery store she forgot to look for the man with the tan overcoat, until she was on the road and noticed him behind her when she pulled to a stop. She was out onto the highway when he began to pass her, then ran her off the road.
The dark soup was just the prefix of what was to come. He was trying to kill her, the man in the tan overcoat. She had not even filed her income taxes yet, or gone to the art festival.
The car hit a flowering plum tree, and came to rest just before the ditch. She heard a car door slam shut. Her air bag had protected her, but there was nothing to protect her from the man in the tan overcoat. She did have a jump rope in the back seat but she was not sure how that would help. She laid back with her eyes closed not moving but hurting. He tried pulling on her door handle, but the door would not open for him. She could hear him walking around the car to try the passenger door. She thought I must have bats in the belfry because the person leaning over was wearing diamond earrings in the shape of tigers. The man in the tan overcoat did not have earrings.
She heard faint voices, from the smell and the sounds she was in the hospital. She opened her eyes and she was laying in a bed in the hospital her leg elevated and in a cast. An aid came in carrying a tray. She heard a familiar voice of Professor Flask "Shall we go dutch treat on the chicken noodle soup.
"What happened ?"she asked
Then she heard Mr. Lemer "An exciting adventure which we will tell you later. It is time now for you to rest."

Mini Challenge:

William and Stan were back at the table before Janice and Sandy. William was listening to his I Pod to a group called Poison Ivy. Sandy wished that there were an interpreter to give the words to the songs. William turned off the IPod as Janice and Sandy sat down and the meal came.
Sandy thew out a question. "How would a person who saw invisible animals not feel they were being cursed or nuts?"
Janice laughed "They are Nuts."
William said"Sometimes a curse is a good thing and the Gypsy curse to see aiding animals is good much is learned and protection given. It can not be reversed so be happy.
Stan nodded his head" but you can not tell others or the animals will give you a hard time"
Janice just laughed and laughed. The others did not laugh so she stopped suddenly. Hey, if you are seeing invisible animals maybe you should see an optometrist. You guys are not serious about a gypsy curse. I am going to find out about this on my computer. "
Sandy changed the topic. "Do you know what they want to call the book club I belong to? " She went on,"The Cow Jumped Over The Moon. Ya, Jane Roth suggested it. What a character, she is no paragon of virtue but she is not a wench either. She drinks a lot of organic teas.
Janice then asked," What do you think happened at the Poets Corner?"
It grew very quiet as they thought about the explosion that sent them there.

Quilly Three Word Challenge#10

Quilly

words:sublunary
comity
specious

"It hovered sublunary giving off a unusual glow. It was an UFO I am sure," said the man in the blue suit. He talked in a rapid pace explaining what he had seen the night before. The dark bearded young man was very animated, but his audience a young long haired blond female although specious of the description treated the information with comity.
"Beth I saw it, it left faster than any plane can"
"Robert I believe that you believe you saw a UFO but there maybe other explanations. Are there others who saw it?
"yes, yes there were others watching and some had pictures. See here in the newspaper."
Robert produced a newspaper with the head lines UFO sighted, with a blurry picture.
"I am sure it is not a UFO but I will watch with you tonight"
" Robert smiled to himself. At last he would get a date.

Jeff's Photo Story April

Luke Fuller surveyed the courtroom. It was still and empty, not as he remember it sitting on the bench. He felt he matured in the years he served, and to a point that was true. The last years became difficult. There were numerous people coming before him with DUI charges, and he wanted to change, to influence them in such a way as to turn their lives around.
Some of these were what people called bums, but there were those who held influential positions in the community. Even he before the event that changed his life felt that he could drink and drive. A little alcohol would not impede him.

The words " There has been an accident, and your daughter has been taken to Mercy Hospital. "was the beginning of a change in his life. A drunk driver hit her, and left her there beside the road. The driver was not a drunk, but an ordinary gentleman who had a few drinks with friends after work. His daughter did not die but never really recovered even after years of treatment.
Now he was to retire, a time to play chess and do some wood working. He did not feel he was ready to retire there was more to be done, but for health reasons he was forced to step down.

Quilly Three Word Challenge#9

Quilly

The words to be used are:
jussulent-full of soup or broth
tenebrous-dark,murky, obscure, or causing gloom
ebullient-boiling, agitated
Continuation from Raven's Challenge

Jennifer went down to the hospital cafeteria, with the hope of finding a relative of Mrs Lemer , and because she was also getting hungry. She picked up some soup, crackers and coffee.
The cafeteria was at this time nearly empty, and she sat near the entry where the dishes were picked up to load with food. From behind her, a man in a tan overcoat and a tam came and sat down at her table. He had a gentle look about him, but he said," I think you would prefer this", and he switched a bowl he had with hers. She looked down at the tenebrous ebullient jussulent bowl, and her stomach became ebulleint. The stranger gentle face became tenebrous. " Take some soup," he said in a demanding voice.
"No, give me back my bowl of chicken soup," she said.
" First you must taste my soup,"he said.
Jennifer put her spoon into the soup and brought it up to her lips, pretending to take it and carefully lowered it back into the bowl. She was not sure if she did a good job at the fake, but the man had turned to look at another gentleman who passed by them to get some food. It was the man who asked about Mrs Lemer, a possible relative. The man seated at her table turned to her and encouraged her to take more soup. Could she get by with another fake as she waited for the other man to get his food. She felt that might not be possible, so she swiped her arm on the table hitting the bowl and sending it to the floor. The man at the table quickly left.
The noise from the falling bowl drew the attention of the enquirer of Mrs Lemer. He put down his tray and came over to aid Jennifer.
She asked" Did you see a man leave here, wearing a tan overcoat?"
She then told him about the strange encounter and the soup.
" I think you should bring the bowl to a lab for a test of the contents."
She agreed and put the bowl in a plastic bag. Remembering why she was waiting for him, she asked about Mrs. Lemer.
" My mother is doing better now, but she had the shock of my sister's murder along with my cousin's." He did not want to talk about the murders because of the investigation, but he mentioned again to make sure she got the bowl checked.

Raven's Challenge 57

Today I face another Raven's Challenge.
Ten Word Challenge will be: apoplexy, doctor, hummingbird, shallow end of the pool, brigadier general, mustard, greed, parallelogram, slumber party, casual

Mini Challenge: Mount Olympus, arsonist, portraits, birch trees, "that car needs a new muffler"

Her daily routine, included swimming at the college pool. She had come to the end of her time.
Jennifer was standing in the shallow end of the pool, she saw the downward movement of the body at the side of the pool, as it collapsed from the apoplexy. A female student in a mustard colored swimsuit, was leaning over the body shouting "Call 911, we need a doctor." Her commands sounded like she was a brigadier general, but she was just well trained.
As other did, Jennifer exited the pool grabbing a towel, watching the emergence team work. The elderly collapsed women was carried from the college pool side on a stretcher. In whispered tones questions were asked about who the lady was. She was not dressed to swim. A person who was near the lady said she appeared to be looking for someone in the pool, and had only been at pool side for a brief period. The reporter in her caused Jennifer to try to gather as much information as she could. She found out that the woman was taken to the nearest hospital a half hour away. Jennifer planned to follow up by going to the hospital.
As she was leaving out the front door she nearly ran into Professor Martin Flask They had begun to work together in the Green Power project. Greed of some made a stumbling block for the project. Because he was doing two jobs, and he asked her to help him with correcting the homework he gave, even though she didn't know anything about parallelograms, they developed a casual relationship.
"I have to go to the hospital,"she said as she pushed passed Professor Flask.
'Hey, slow down and enjoy the humming birds,"he said.
"No, I haven't time. A woman was sick at pool side and I think it had more to it than her just getting sick. It is a gut feeling."
when she entered the lobby of the ICU at the hospital she felt like she was at a slumber party. People were covered with blankets and had pillows lying about on the chairs. She went to the nurses station, and was told she could not be given any information because she was not family. Jennifer decided if she sat in the waiting room maybe she would meet a family member and she could get some information. This was not working well, when a police officer went up to the desk and she heard Mrs Strom Lemer. Lemer was the last name of one of the girls who were killed at the park.

Mini Challenge
Mount Olympus is where Sandy Shore wanted to be, but she was outside some distance from the smoldering building that once was the Poets Corner. Police officers were taking information from the patrons. Injured people were taken away in the ambulances. The injured were from the kitchen area. There was a rumor that the fire was the work of an arsonist. She thought why? Why would anyone want to burn the little shop?
Janice asked if, although they were shaken up, Sandy would like go to another restaurant to continue their conversation. An extremely loud car drove by just then and Stan said,"that car needs a new muffler" Ignoring the car statement Sandy agree to go some where else after the police were through with them.
Birch Haven had a completely different look than the Poets Corner. A circle driveway that was lined with Birch trees. Portraits hung on the wall of famous individuals who frequented the restaurant. Sandy was not sure if they were properly dressed and she was sure that they still had the fire ash on them. She would have liked to have some time to clean up. They were seated. After ordering Janice and Sandy went to the restroom to clean-up.
"I didn't see the panther, the llama, or the penguin yet "said Sandy.
"What are you talking about?"said Janice.
"Oh nothing just babbling." said Sandy. She was not the one with the panther Sandy concluded.
Janice was not informed either about invisible animals. Stan and her young man William were the ones with the answers.

Quilly Three Word Challenge#8

Quilly
Words for Three Word Thursday are;
propinquity-similarity
susurrus--murmur
nescience-absence of knowledge

This story will continue from Raven's Challenge mini.

There were propinquity in the small cafes such as the Poets Corner. Sandy Shore had nescience of gypsy folk lore. She went to table after table asking questions, hoping the young man would show himself to her, but she began to hear susurrus. The questioning was not random on her part, as she went to the tables where the llama would stand next to. She avoided the tables where the panther hung out, and she was getting annoyed that her penguin was not helping in her search.
The statement, "Here is the penguin companion, " made her look to where the voice came from.
There was the young man with the striped shirt. He motioned for her to sit down at the table, which had two other people at it. At last someone who could give her some answers. The young man introduced his companions, Janice and Stan. The panther now came to the table, so she supposed that one Janice or Stan was connected to it. The waiter came to the table and Sandy gave her order.
A loud explosion interrupted her first question. Smoke and fire were coming from the kitchen area. The invisible animals herded their companions out of the burning building to safety. Sandy was not sure if the others in the building could see the animals, or not but they followed them out without panic.

This story will continue in Raven's Challenge.

Happy Birthday to Me

Monday was my birthday and it was very nice for over three days. I received a card from my sister. My hubby sent me flowers and took me out to dinner. Thank you Dr. John. On Sunday I had a call from a friend who I have not spoken to in over a year, and that was very nice. I then received a card from a friend whom I only have written Christmas cards to sent me a card and note. Peter and family called and wished me happy birthday. My daughter took me shopping for an Easter outfit. I say thanks to everyone.
