Teens and Babies

There is a new show on TV of teen couples in an experiment where they live in a provided house and they live the stages of life. Starting with an apparatus that make one feel pregnant and then the babies are given to them from volunteers which monitor the care their child is receiving. The purpose is to see if the teens want and can take care of children . They take care of each placement for three days. They start with the babies next is toddlers, then children, then teens and then elderly. Thank goodness we don't have it this way in real life. You grow with your children and take each stage as it comes. If someone had told me as I was to marry Dr John that I would have to literally wipe his mother's behind, and give her shots etc. , I might not have agreed to marry him. His mother was a wonderful person and I loved her and taking care of her was not a problem.

Also these children and people are not theirs and they have been taken from their parents. The children are going to act up because of the separation. I am not sure if this experiment will help them make the correct choice. It will give them an idea that the job of raising children is not an easy one, and you have to place others care over your own wants.

Dogs and American Doll

Dogs and American Dolls don't seem to go together but they were an important part of my week. I took care of my son's dog while his family got away for a short vacation. Maggie and Spanky played together but I had to watch them to make sure that the play didn't turn to a fight. Maggie did not like Spanky sitting in my lap . She would share toys, food , and bones , but not my lap. My daughter read an ad in the paper about an American Doll and Fisher Price sale in Oshkosh ,so my daughter and I went down to take a look. American Doll has an Outlet store but the sale was not there .It was in a different mall where they must have rented the building. The sale is once a year. Remember Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving it was like that only the crowd was nicer. We had to line up and wait to get in the store, because they only let so many in at a time. As you walked in They handed you a large garbage looking bag. People came out with a number of those bags full. Some had to use a dolly to carry their load. It was standing in line for an hour and half just to check out. Good deals. We will be prepared next year. The roads were dry now but you could see water damage from the flood in the building. The goods were not in the flood but were brought in only for this weekend.

Updates

I will begin with an update on my sister who has a brain tumor. After treatment she continues to have MRI's and the first one show shrinking but they have not said anything but they have not gasp either. She feels well.

Dr John as he reported is feeling a little better.

I want to say something about the rose on Dr john's blog. I am so glad to see it bloom. Roses and I have a history. When I was at the parsonage I planted roses. I would follow all the instructions and I got one rosebush which grew for a number of years and never a bloom. I had another which was in the railroad garden and it was covered with buds but just before it would blossom the deer had lunch or the rabbits. I had a rose hedge and that was OK. I planted these roses in Neenah under protest. When we were in the store Dr John had the roses in his scooter basket. Pat's boys dug the holes and I planted them. We will see how they grow.

June is going fast.

There was an exercise in the water I wanted to go to at the pool. The class started today. I just couldn't face getting into cold water, although it has been in the 80s here. So I didn't go. Rain has been our forecast for the week. We are OK, but just South of us it is not. Allot of flooding. I did check the basement and it was dry.

On the Today Show this morning they talk about and had pictures of a man who was going to have a baby. He was a she. I find this disturbing or maybe just confusing.
