Young cooking

There is a lady in our church who was and is interested in working with the youth from 6th grade to 8th grade. In a series of her meetings she provided cooking instructions. The children learned how to cook different foods. Then one evening they prepared a full meal. Pennie and I were invited to the meal. There were a few burnt edges on the potatoes and green beans but the meal was very good.
I am going to provide an answer why we did not go to Peters for Easter. Bree came down with what Pennie and I had. We still are coughing, and we did not want the chance to come down sick again.

It's an A for effort the way I see it. Gotta learn sometime :) Hope you are feeling better. I think it was wise to stay home :)

Ohhhhhh... poor Bree! Well, that's sad - but the stuff holidays are made of and remembered for. Along with a lot of GOOD stuff too! :)

Sounds like those middle schoolers are getting some butter with their daily bread! How cool that you and Pennie got to share in it all!

I do hope that you and Bree are over the nasties...Spring colds seem to be the worst, too...how good that someone is teaching the youth to cook...it's what I learned at my mother's knee, lol...she was quite the cook...more chef than cook and could out Paula Paula Deene~!
Feel better, Betty!

Cooking class is a great youth ministry idea! How cool that you got to be there and sample the kid's attempts and give them encouragement.

I hope you, Pennie and Bree are all feeling better. It is sensible when one is sick to avoid passing the germs around. I am sorry, though, that you weren't able to spend Easter with your grandkids.

Our church did this as a ministry with our youth. It was awsome. She based her cooking on Martha and Mary,

I am sorry that you have been sick. I hope you both recover soon.
It is good to see your blog.

Blessing and love,
Pam
