Birthday

It was my birthday today and it was a nice day. We serve coffee after church service, with saffron rolls and tiny cupcakes. Pennie last night brought me a bouquet of fruit some covered in chocolate. She and Brea got me a garden stake that says" I don't remember planting that." Pennie gave me a calendar with pictures of Maggie, Spanky, and my grandchildren on each month. The calendar starts with April. Peter and family called to wish me a Happy Birthday. Brea wished me a Happy Birthday in her blog and gave me a song.

Happy Easter

Wishing all a Blessed Easter!

We had a very nice Easter but very active. My son from Madison and his children came and looked for eggs and Easter baskets. It was a rush to get to church on time and were afraid we wouldn't find a place to sit ,but we did. It was a nice service.

Yesterday we went out all afternoon and I didn't notice how much standing I was doing and was still standing when I helped with the evening meal. We grilled even though it was cool. My legs felt it today. The BQ chicken was very good.

Why I Worship

Our church has asked for short writings on why we worship to be put in the newsletter. I thought I would put my ideas here.

God loves me and I love God is the main reason for my worship. My God is an awesome God. I can worship anywhere and I have worshiped in many places such as ,lakeside, canyon, and woods. I worship on Sunday in a church building with people from St Marks. When many people worship together and all have been given gifts for ministry there is strength, and support. During the service we receive communion which gives healing and forgiveness. God's word is read and we hear what God will have us do. With our gifts combined we are able to serve any many ways to many people in our country and others. These are the reasons for worshiping at St Marks.

Trapped by Jewel Quest2

I haven't written a blog for awhile. Why you ask? Jewel quest 2. I bought the game at Christmas but it sat on the desk . That was a good thing, but I didn't know that then. I started the game and I can't stop playing it . Late into the night and on into the morning I play, stopping only when my eyes are hurting . The day comes and I think about the game ,sneaking in to the computer to play. Poor Maggie, she is put out into the snow. She did bark to go out. There is much house work to do but I prefer the game. The laundry does get done and I do stop to feed Dr John. I keep loosing at the waterfall. I lost today at noon and was upset. Dr John and I decided not to eat lunch but to go out to dinner. We went to Applebees using our Christmas gift card. I had steak and shrimp it was very good. Well I have to go back to the game.

It's Cold

The weather is very cold and was this whole weekend. My youngest son and family and friend came for the weekend. The kids came to go sledding. It was Too Cold, so instead we went to the movies. I don't go sledding any more just watch. I did go to the movie with them. We also played canasta and I won with my partners. I had as partner Alex first, my oldest grandson, then Pat my son, and then Pennie My daughter. I lost to Dr John when we played three handed. The movie we saw was "National Treasure" I think that was the name. I liked it. On Sunday we went to church the whole family and that was nice. Pat and Curtis hauled things up and down our basement steps and Alex snowblowed the drive way. Warm feelings even with blowing snow.

Super Bowl

I began watching the game not caring who lost or won, after all the Packers were not playing. I had the feeling New England would win because no one had beaten them yet. As I watched I liked the job the Giants were doing on defence, and I wanted them to win. THEY DID! It was a good game. Commercials: I liked the Coke one, and the Bud one.

It was my sons birthday on the first and Ididn't get to say Happy Birthday on my blog. Happy Birthday oldest son. I was so happy at his birth and so scared. I hadn't taken care of any babies, toddlers, but no babies. My mother-in-law who had foster children let me change a diaper in preparation. I just had the thought on how diapers have changed. On that first diaper change it was cloth and I used safety pins. All my children used cloth but when we camped I tried disposable ones. I think all my grandchildren had disposable ones.

Happy Birthday Maggie

Maggie's birthday turned into a two day affair. It was fun because the whole family came. Maggie enjoyed all the attention she got from the grand kids. A friend of my daughters came over with her puppy on Sunday and Maggie got to play with someone not human.

We went to church and they had to call for 911 for aid for someone who was a retired pastor. We were impressed with the way the congregation cared for not only the one in distress but others in the congregation that needed aid. The children who were listening to the children's sermon where given an explanation as what was happening and what they could do to help. They moved the congregation to the fellowship room so that the 911 attendants could work more easily. In the fellowship room we prayed and sung "Jesus Loves Me" The pastor did give a sermon which was one of the best I have heard. There wasn't any notes he walked around from table to table talking to the individuals there. He was asking them[ and me] to listen and look for Jesus calling them to a special job He wants them to do.
