Happy Valentines Day

I hope all have a great day. This day has been very hard for me. I do not remember last year's celebration because John was just trying to live. His loss has made this day hard. I have been cleaning and reorganizing the Christmas decorations, and came across a box in the wrong spot. The box contained, a journal I wrote as John and I dated, and our wedding cross that was on the cake.
Making this day better was an event I attended Saturday night at the church. There was a fund raising event for the youth going to the National Youth Gathering in 2012 at New Orleans. The name of this event was The Not So Beautiful, Beauty Contest. There were five male contestants who dressed in formal wear, and competed in a talent show. They were such good sports, and we laughed all night. Over $700.00 was raised. I wish I knew how to but up pictures.

Betty, I can imagine that this time is still very difficult for you. I would love to see your wedding pictures and the cross from your cake.

The fund raiser sounds fun and a lot of money was raised for the youth's trip.

Do you know how to get your pictures from your camera to your computer? That is the first thing you do. You will have a USB cord that attaches to the computer(the long flat end and a smaller end that connects to your camera.

I forgot that you will need a place or program to store them in. If you have one then store them into your computer.

Then you will be ready to upload them to your blog. I hope this helps you in some small way.

Take care of yourself. I remember Dr.John fondly.

Dear Betty,
I can only imagine the mixture of pain and joy you must feel as you look at a box full of beautiful memories, especially at this time. Dr. John is remembered with great fondness by all of us. ♥
We also had a fundraiser for the youth group on Saturday evening, although it sounds like you had more laughter with your male contestants. I'm glad you had an enjoyable time.
Perhaps someone from your church could help you post pictures?

Betty, every time I think of Dr. John and miss him, I think of you and how much greater your pain must be. I am glad you were blessed with the discovery of mementos from when your love was new. May your cherished memories continue to comfort you.

Betty I can only imagine what you must be going through. But what memories they are. I know this has been a hard year for you but with your strength and your families strength Dr. John lives on. I did a post for him. You can see it HERE.

Me Ke Aloha
