Thank You

I want to thank all who have come to me with their kind thoughts. I want to come to each individually, but I am not ready yet. I miss him so much. I know that my friend, brother, and Lord Jesus will be with me. The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:oo AM at St Marks in Neenah.
John's younger sister came home from the hospital to get stronger for the surgery in a month.

Betty, you take your time. We all understand that this isn't the time for us to expect you to be social. I am holding your family, and especially you, in prayer.

Betty... you dear dear woman! None of us expects you to be out blogging and visiting now. I hope you are surrounded by family and loving friends right now... and I hope you are all remembering wOnderful fabulous memories and laughing over good GOOD times that you all shared with Dr. John. He loved LIFE so much ... and he loved you... and his family. I know you all have a million zillion stories to remember. I sO wish I could come to his funeral! I SO wish I could have been part of his WELCOME into Heaven!!! He spent the last year being jealous of my galavanting here and there -- but now I'M the one who's jealous ... cuz I know when HE got to Heaven there was one heck of a celebration!!! And we had to miss it! NO FAIR!

Like Quilly, I have got each and every one of you covered in prayer. I know the sadness in your family must be unbearable... but you are all such wonderful Christians - and Jesus WILL get you through. And what a COMFORT it IS to know John is with him. John has MET him - face to face. How I WISH he could blog about it!

Oh yes! I have Baby Sister (Chris? God knows... but I think her name is Chris?) in my prayers too. I'm glad she is being given time to get stronger. This must be hard for her too - first her doctor, and now her brother. And all her health issues on top of it. Your family has a lot going on...

Jeff sent me over here, Betty. I visited Dr. John's blog once in a while and remember it being a fun place.

I am so sorry. Wishing you much strength and the comforting warmth of family, friends, and God's protection.

Betty, I'm so sorry for your loss.

We will all miss your good husband and his wit and courage and presence in the blogging world. Even the dragons, I know, are weeping.

I hope you will be kind to yourself in the days to come and grieve at your own pace and on your own terms. I will hold you and your family in my prayers.

Betty, you don't know me but Dr. John's positive words often touched my heart. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed. I am so very sorry for your loss. I am glad you have family around to help you through this rough time. I will pray for you and your family. It's not always easy to understand God's will. Listen to your heart and remember that Jesus loves you.

Dear Betty - I just learned about this from Raven's blog. I'm so sorry! Apart from Dr John's wordzzle contributions I read quite a few of his Sunday sermons over the past year, and I so admire his ability to mix the sermons into the fictional Pigeon Falls story as well!

I can only pray that you will feel much support from friends and family and church, and also from us distant blog-friends, in your time of loss and grief. May the Lord be with you in all that needs to be taken care of; and take care of yourself as well as you can, too!

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff, they comfort me."
Psalm 23:4

Betty,
Dr. John was a reader, and frequent comment on my blog, and someone who gave me hope when I needed it most. He was a true man of god, and one of compassion and hope. Please take as much time as you need. You and your family are in my prayers, and will be. Please take care of yourself!

Dear Betty, I just found out about Dr John from Raven and I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you're going through right now but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Dr John in the flesh, but as a fellow Wordzzler, he would come and visit me on Saturdays. His warmth and good humour made Saturdays something to look forward to. He was always so encouraging. He was clearly a man of some considerable wit and creativity and I, for one, will miss his visits and his stories.

I was terribly saddened to hear the news of Dr John's passing on Jeff's blog.

He was a lovely man. He was responsible for many smiles.

May God hold you and your family in His grace and comfort you in a way only He can.

You have my prayers.
