Life Goes On

I am doing ok. Evenings are the hardest, although my daughter has been here until late. I have been to two bible studies and the Lenten Service.
The service for Dr John was very nice. There was a representative from the Bishops office a former Pastor of my son spoke. Also a former intern now pastor and a former president of the congregation in the UP. Pastor Steve's sermon used Dr John's final page on his study on grief. He is buried in the cemetery opposite from our home. I can walk there. The flowers were beautiful but the cut flowers are now fading.
Leaving Dr John's page as it was for now. There have been requests to have the Sunday sermons printed and Pigeon Falls printed.

Glad to see an update about how you're doing. I only knew you both through the Wordzzle game and the blogs but I wrote an In Memoriam post at my own blog last week. If you'd like to read it you'll find it here. Take care of yourself, and take your time about everything. ♥

glad to read an update. i am so sorry Betty, i can only imagine how much you miss him. his love and devotion to your marriage and family is a testament of how much he loved you. he is always with you, as your angel as you were to him in life. how are the kids and grand kids?how i wish there was no sorrow in any of your/our hearts. i keep on visiting his blog, reading his post and every time i realize even more than the last how much he did for us, how many he touched, how many love him....thank you for leaving his blog up, pls don't take it down ever...i'm sure i'm not the only one that visits with him there. he is now in peace, in complete health, no more suffering and with His Beloved Maker but i am feeling selfish and wish he was still here...i'm so glad and not surprised at all to read about his funeral. he was a good man. i'm so happy he rest close to you and that you can visit him. pls make sure you eat and sleep and rest enough. pls make sure let your tears flow if need be and than you feel the warmth that so many are sending your way. i always thought you were his beautiful angel for your love and care of him made him strong. let his love of you now help you in this sad time so that you don't get sick. hugs and kisses to your heart and the kids heart and grand kids heart. the flowers on earth may fade but the ones in heaven never do don't forget....xoxoxo much love from us all here. will keep on checking up on your post for updates and news. God Bless.

I'm glad to hear your doing well during the days... I thought they would be harder because Pennie would be at work. I'm also glad to hear that you have been getting out and keeping up with Bible studies and service. Those things are sO important.

I think having his sermon's -- and the entirety of Pigeon Falls printed (published?) would be a grand idea! I know there is a ton of Pigeon Falls that went on before I came along that I have never read... I have been wondering about that "final episode" of Pigeon Falls he spoke of when I was there. Will you post it?

I'm so glad to hear that he is right across the street! That is wonderful that you can just walk over there and chat with him. Are dogs allowed in? I'm sure Maggie would love to go!

Betty, I pray for you daily - and for the kids too. I know only God can heal the pain of losing your very best friend. What a great reunion there are planning ... and when it's set, God will call you to join them! But for now... yes... life goes on. I'm glad you're letting it.

Love you!

I am glad you are doing ok, but i know it will take time for you. We all miss Pastor John, too. It is hard not to see new posts or his comments.

Betty, it is good to hear from you. I think of you and pray for you every day. When I think of how much I miss Dr. John's wit and humor, my heart breaks for you who loved him most.

As his sermons were something I very much enjoyed and looked forward to them, I'd love to see something in which his sermons were published and I'll betcha that I'm not alone in that respect.

Betty I am glad to read that you are managing. And you are lucky to have Pennie near.
