Happy Birthday

I want to say Happy Birthday to my daughter a day late.
Happy Birthday to my grandson today. May you have a great day.

Now that our weather has warmed up I want to remember something I enjoyed doing some years ago before the doctor said" Cross Country Skiing are you crazy you may break a bone. No you can't go. Find another exercise like walking." Those people who like to do that exercise are not happy with the snow leaving.
I enjoyed the ability to be out doors and being able to see the beautiful scenery. I can't walk in the winter I may fall and break a bone, but I could ski, before the doc said no. We would find a different trail each weekend and the family and dog would go. I remember one time we missed read the trail signs and got lost. We sang "This is The Day the Lord Has Made" over and over again as we tried to get back on the right trail. We were on a snowmobile trail and we had to do some bending to get under tree branches. We eventually got back to the correct trail. I had a fear of heights and skiing helped me face my fear. There was at the beginning of one trail a quite large hill to go up. This provided a place to get warm because it required work to get up that hill and your frozen feet and hands would thaw out. On this trail which was close to our home there was a hill which had a turn at the bottom and a pine tree just beyond the trail turn so if you missed the turn you ran into the tree. When we first began the tree was tiny and you could ski over it but the tree grew so it was a good thing that your ability grew too so you could get around the turn. Cross Country skiing is a great sport for the family. I feeling your sorry all you skiiers for the loss of snow but now I am looking forward to planting a garden.

Is There a Positive Somewhere?

I have been listening to the news and I want to stay feeling positive but there has been a lot of bad news out there. News that gives me concern. Children beating another child, a student attacking her teacher, a group of nine planning to attack their teacher. I don't know if it because of TV or the video games that are violent or not ,or has this been as bad before but not reported. I know there were gangs when I was in school but they were in the inner city. There was also a report that more students are dropping out of high school.

Dr John reported my daughters accident of the car. Pennie was in the house of a client and her car was hit by a man pulling out of his driveway. She was parked on the other side of the road. He said it was a narrow road. Pennie questioned that statement. The road is wider than the road in front of our home. The man should not have had trouble if he was careful. the police agreed. She can drive the car safely but can't open the backdoor. She feels bad because things were beginning to look like there was light at the end of the tunnel of debt. The odd thing is that earlier another worker was at the house and her car was also hit by another neighbor. This is a neighborhood of bad drivers. Earlier in the day she was being followed by a red car. She pulled over to park and that car also pulled over. She went back out and made some turns and the red car stayed with her. She then went towards the police station and the car left her.

Birthday

It was my birthday today and it was a nice day. We serve coffee after church service, with saffron rolls and tiny cupcakes. Pennie last night brought me a bouquet of fruit some covered in chocolate. She and Brea got me a garden stake that says" I don't remember planting that." Pennie gave me a calendar with pictures of Maggie, Spanky, and my grandchildren on each month. The calendar starts with April. Peter and family called to wish me a Happy Birthday. Brea wished me a Happy Birthday in her blog and gave me a song.

Happy Easter

Wishing all a Blessed Easter!

We had a very nice Easter but very active. My son from Madison and his children came and looked for eggs and Easter baskets. It was a rush to get to church on time and were afraid we wouldn't find a place to sit ,but we did. It was a nice service.

Yesterday we went out all afternoon and I didn't notice how much standing I was doing and was still standing when I helped with the evening meal. We grilled even though it was cool. My legs felt it today. The BQ chicken was very good.

Why I Worship

Our church has asked for short writings on why we worship to be put in the newsletter. I thought I would put my ideas here.

God loves me and I love God is the main reason for my worship. My God is an awesome God. I can worship anywhere and I have worshiped in many places such as ,lakeside, canyon, and woods. I worship on Sunday in a church building with people from St Marks. When many people worship together and all have been given gifts for ministry there is strength, and support. During the service we receive communion which gives healing and forgiveness. God's word is read and we hear what God will have us do. With our gifts combined we are able to serve any many ways to many people in our country and others. These are the reasons for worshiping at St Marks.

Trapped by Jewel Quest2

I haven't written a blog for awhile. Why you ask? Jewel quest 2. I bought the game at Christmas but it sat on the desk . That was a good thing, but I didn't know that then. I started the game and I can't stop playing it . Late into the night and on into the morning I play, stopping only when my eyes are hurting . The day comes and I think about the game ,sneaking in to the computer to play. Poor Maggie, she is put out into the snow. She did bark to go out. There is much house work to do but I prefer the game. The laundry does get done and I do stop to feed Dr John. I keep loosing at the waterfall. I lost today at noon and was upset. Dr John and I decided not to eat lunch but to go out to dinner. We went to Applebees using our Christmas gift card. I had steak and shrimp it was very good. Well I have to go back to the game.
